Kissel's Story

Our precious Kissel was loving, gentle, and

a real kisser which is how he got his name.

After losing our first loving dog, Rocky, I did

not want another dog as it broke my heart

to lose him.

Shortly after Rocky’s passing my husband

went out with the kids and by road side near

our home was a lady with a whole litter of

puppies for which she was trying to find

homes.  Needless to say they saw Kissel

the smallest of the litter, a mixed

Fox Hound-Beagle, and they were hooked:).

This little pup was the friendliest of the

bunch and they immediately fell in love him.

You can say it was love at first site!!!

After much begging and promising that they

would train and take care of the new pup,

daddy gave in as he could not resist this

bundle of puppy joy, himself. And so

they brought Kissel home.

I was not a happy camper as I was still

recovering from the loss of our Rocky. I did

not speak to my family for about a week for

bringing this sweet beautiful pup home.

Well, the kids were back in school and as

you can guess; it was “me” taking care

of this 7 weeks old puppy as we all knew

would be the way.... I have to tell you,

I rapidly fell in love with this little guy, a

lovable precious angel-pup, and one who

was so irresistible, I just loved him up.

The rest is history... He became a special

member of our family, one that filled

our hearts with much joy!!!

~A Love Not Lost~

He hears the call and his time has come,

He’s free to dream and free to run.

The wind the arms that carry him through,

But he glances back to look at you.

To let you know that he felt your love,

and will always watch you from above.

Don’t cry so much don’t shed a tear,

You see me not but I’m always here.

Listen for me I will call to you,

My love for you was always true.

I have to go now the angels call me,

But thank you all my family.

~A prayer said during Kissels burial to bring

closure, comfort, and hope to our children~

Dear God: Creator of all living things we ask, that

as we light our candles, the healing warmth of

love will flow into our broken hearts and give us

strength and comfort.

We also pray, that the soft glow of light from our

candles will light the way for our angel puppy which

You are bringing home.

Kissle may you know the gratitude we hold in

our heart’s for your faithfulness and the gift

of unconditional love that you so lovingly

and willingly gave us for the past 13 years.

We are temporarily separated for only a short while.

The bond that connects us will never be broken.

Someday we will meet again and with hugs,

tears, and kisses, we will walk together in

eternity to our new home.  Until that blessed

day we honor your precious soul and

remember you always.

We have sent you on a journey to a land free

from pain not because we did not love you,

but because we loved you too much to force

you to stay, Amen.

We love you our precious little angel puppy.

In Memory of Kissel

The tenderness and love we share
We'll find our hearts are always there
The kindness and the love you gave
Are treasures we shall always save

You gave to us a life of caring
These the gifts we now are wearing
Each paw print that you left behind
Will be the love that always binds

And now you are within a place
With fields of gold and streams of lace
Where you can run and play and rest
A place where God put's all His best

In life those things that we will treasure
Are memories of the love we measure
You have given all those things
That loyal hearts shall always bring

So in this life as it goes on
Your worth and love we lean upon
Knowing that you gave us love
Is all the joy that we'll think of.
