Fostering Children~

Children are very precious to me...
It is because of my love for children that
I decided many years ago that I would
become a foster mom. My brothers and
I were blest with wonderful loving, caring
mom and dad who did everything possible
to do right by us. Though, we may not
have always gotten everything that they
would have wanted for us to have; like
material things... We always got what
we needed and there was always
plenty of love to go around...
When natural parents cannot fulfill
their responsibilities in raising their
children, for whatever the reasons may
be; foster parents are there to help out
until the natural parent is able to do so.
You will encounter that some of the
children have been abused, neglected or
worse and because of it they act out
in many ways. You will also find that
it is not always easy to deal with
some children and even the most well
intentioned person will find it very
hard to do so. However, you are not
alone and there is around the clock help;
should you need it. The agency which
you choose to work and train with have
on going training that help you learn
all the necessary skills to deal with
many of the problem that may arise while
the children are in your care...
These agencies, whether government or
private are staffed with the most competent
and caring people who will not allow
you work with a child that you feel you
you cannot handle; they provide you with
help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and they
are ready to assist you in anyway possible...
Becoming a foster mom has been both
a rewarding and gratifying experience
for me and my family....
It would be misleading not to say that it
is "hard work"... But it would be unfair not
to say that there is also a lot of "joy" in
fostering children. I can assure you that
the good out weighs the bad... It is with
a happy heart that I say this: There is
nothing more selfless, to me, than
giving "unconditional love" to a child...
